Life with children

Who knew?
As a mom are we ever prepared for the days events, for the weeks hold backs, for the months turnovers? Who knew that being a mom would change your life so much!

Remember before the children came you spent the day doing whatever came up. Maybe for some that was sewing, gardening, hiking, or whatever. I remember riding my horses all the time. This was my time, my free minded space! I didn't have a care, I worried about nothing, because my husband is old enough to take care of himself. As a couple we would drop everything and take a nap under the apple trees in the side yard. While the horses stared at us like we were crazy!! We took long drives on all the windy roads, just to see where we would end up. It didn't matter whether we spoke or not, we just enjoyed our surroundings.

Honey, guess what? Yup, I'm pregnant! Silence for a moment, then of course a hug. Then the thoughts and emotions came rushing in! What will I do with the horses, what about work, who will watch our baby? There isn't one person good enough to watch my child! I am not selling my horses because we are having a child!!!! Then reality sets in, life is going to be a little different.

I have to admit I wasn't the happiest about having children. I thought our life was great the way it was. As a couple we shared and did everything together, how could we do that with three of us? Then the day came, Honey I think it's time! Our little girl was here and we could not be happier. She has your cheeks and my nose! Look, she sleeps so peaceful! How precious this gift of life is. We come home, nothing is different, the house is in order the animals are all still here. Isn't it amazing how we draw such a picture, when we have never experienced different circumstances.

My life is great! Our daughter is getting ready to turn five. She reminds me everyday that she is me! She wants what I want and she loves what I love. Her hair looks like mine and her nose, yes it still resembles mine. Her cheeks, just as chubby as dads!!

I couldn't imagine life any different!
